Latch bolt by thumbpiece outside and lever inside, except when thumbpiece is locked by stop in front; then latch bolt by key outside & lever inside. Deadbolt by key outside & turn piece inside. When deadbolt is thrown, stop is automatically activated making outside thumbpiece rigid. Inside lever retracts latch and deadbolt simultaneously but DOES NOT free outside thumb piece. Backset: 2-1/2", LH, Satin Brass and Black finish.
